1. What is a hair topper?
A hair topper is a partial hairpiece that covers the crown and parting and blends into your own hair, usually held by pressure clips. It adds density and coverage exactly where your part is widening, without covering your whole head like a wig does.
2. What is the difference between a hair topper and a wig?
A wig gives full coverage of the whole head. A topper covers only the crown and parting and blends into the hair you still have. A topper is the better answer when you have enough hair left to create a natural transition; a wig is better when hair loss is advanced or complete. A topper starts at 55,000 PHP, a ready to wear wig at 35,000 PHP and a custom human hair wig at 120,000 PHP.
3. Do hair toppers damage your natural hair?
Worn and maintained correctly, they should not. Pressure clips spread the weight evenly and use no glue and no heat. The risks are a topper that is too heavy for your hair, clips left in the same position permanently, and poor home care, and all three are avoidable.
4. How much does a hair topper cost in the Philippines?

5. How long does a hair topper last?
With proper care, a premium human hair topper typically lasts around a year or more of regular wear. Gentle washing, careful detangling and regular salon servicing are what decide the lifespan, more than the passage of time.
6. Will people notice I am wearing a hair topper?
Not when it is custom made and fitted properly. The base sits flat against your scalp, the parting is colour matched to your own shade, and your own hair is smoothed over the edges. At conversation distance it reads as hair growing from your own head.
7. How is a hair topper attached?
Discreet pressure clips around the base clip gently onto your own hair at the crown. There is no glue and no heat, and you put it on and take it off yourself in under a minute at home. No salon visit is needed for daily wear.
8. Can I sleep in a hair topper?
We do not recommend it. Sleeping in a topper causes tangling at the nape and puts constant tension on the same points of your own hair. Take it off at night and store it on a form so the base keeps its shape.
9. Can I shower or swim with a hair topper on?
It is better to remove it. Washing a topper while wearing it soaks the clips and the base and shortens its life. If you swim in it, rinse with fresh water afterwards and dry it fully, because salt and chlorine dry out the hair.
10. What size hair topper do I need?
It depends on how much area needs coverage now and how your hair loss is likely to progress. A base that is too small shows at the edges; one that is too large is heavier than necessary. We measure your coverage area at the consultation and recommend the size that fits.
11. Should I choose a human hair or a synthetic topper?
Human hair looks and moves most naturally, can be heat styled and lasts longest, but needs styling like your own hair. Synthetic fibre holds its style permanently and needs less effort, but has a shorter life and limited heat tolerance. We compare both against your routine at the consultation.
12. Is a topper right for thinning hair on top?
That is exactly what a topper is made for. If your thinning is concentrated at the parting and crown while the sides and back are still reasonably dense, a topper gives coverage and volume where you need it and blends into the rest of your hair.
13. Can a hair topper be cut and styled?
Yes. Every HEADS topper is cut and styled into your look at the fitting, and it can be restyled later at a service appointment. Human hair toppers can also be blow dried and heat styled within sensible limits.
14. Can I dye a hair topper?
Human hair can be worked with, but going lighter is difficult and shortens the life of the hair. We prefer to colour match precisely from the start, including roots, highlights and dimensional tones, so that dyeing is not needed.
15. Why does my topper tangle at the nape and what helps?
Friction against collars and shoulders is the usual cause. Detangle from the ends upwards with a wide tooth comb, never brush it wet from the roots, keep conditioner on the lengths, and store it on a form. A sulfate free routine reduces it considerably.
16. Can I wear my hair up with a topper?
Low styles usually work well, high ponytails and tight updos are harder because they can expose the base edge. Tell us at the consultation if you wear your hair up often, and we plan the base size and clip placement around that.
17. Does a hair topper work in Philippine heat and humidity?
Yes, with the right base. A mesh or lace base is breathable and lets air reach the scalp, which is what matters in a tropical climate. We select the base with your climate and daily routine in mind, not just the look.
18. What is the difference between a mesh and a lace topper base?
A mesh or fishnet base is light and breathable and lets your own hair pass through and blend with the topper. A lace base gives the most realistic finish at the parting, because the translucent lace reads like your own scalp. Both are hand made in our own ateliers.
19. How do I wash a hair topper?
Wash gently with a sulfate free shampoo, never rub or twist the base, condition the lengths only, and let it air dry on a form. How often depends on wear and climate rather than a fixed schedule. We show you the routine at the fitting.
20. Can I wear a topper without clips?
There are alternatives depending on your hair and scalp, and we discuss them if clips are uncomfortable or your own hair is fragile. Clips remain the gentlest option for most clients because they use no glue and come off in seconds.
21. Can I wear a topper with alopecia or during chemotherapy?
It depends on how much hair remains. A topper needs surrounding hair to blend into, so with advanced or complete loss a wig is usually the kinder answer. If you are starting treatment, come before the hair loss begins so we can match your own colour and density.
22. Where can I get a hair topper in Manila?

23. Can I put a topper on myself?
Yes. Part your hair at the crown, position the topper so its parting lines up with your own, press the clips closed at the front, sides and back, then smooth your own hair over the edges. Most clients manage it in under a minute after the first week.
24. Can I wear a topper if I have very little hair left?
Sometimes, but it depends on what is left to clip into and to blend with. If there is not enough surrounding hair, the transition will show and a wig gives a better result. We tell you honestly which one suits your situation.
25. What is the difference between a topper and an integration?
An integration sits between a topper and a wig. It is built like a net through which your own hair is pulled and integrated, adding density across a larger area while still using the hair you have. Which one suits you depends on how much hair remains. ---
